Problem

Tanger Outlets have 43 malls in North America carrying more than 400 fashion brands. They turned to Acart to create awareness and build traffic for the grand opening of their Ottawa location in October, 2014. In addition to building general awareness of the mall opening, a primary objective of the campaign was to accumulate a minimum of 20,000 email addresses which would be used to distribute promotional offers such as discount cards, coupon books and gift vouchers to potential shoppers.

SOLUTION

Acart leveraged radio, print (display and inserts), television, transit and online media to successfully achieve this objective within a six week timeframe.

Results

As a result, over 15,000 Tanger coupons were downloaded directly from the digital ad campaign, CPA and conversion rates exceeded client benchmarks, and over 26,000 Facebook followers were accumulated representing 50% more followers than the next closest Ottawa mall. The goal of accumulating 20,000 email addresses was reached. On opening day there was so much excitement that people arrived well in advance of the opening time and traffic was lined up in all directions leading to the Outlet. Tanger considered the grand opening to be a remarkable success and continues to benefit from Acart’s campaign as illustrated by significant increases in Facebook followers, branded search volume and earned media.
